Where the visionary aesthetics of the past meet the groundbreaking innovations of 2026. We pioneer a new era of design that reimagines tomorrow through the lens of yesterday's dreams.
Founded in 2023, the Institute of Retro-Futuristic Design (IRFD) stands at the unique intersection of historical futurism and contemporary innovation. We study, archive, and re-interpret the visionary design languages of the 20th century—from Googie architecture and Space Age aesthetics to Cyberpunk and Raygun Gothic—and fuse them with the technological possibilities of 2026.
Our mission is to cultivate a design philosophy that values optimism, human-centric technology, and aesthetic boldness. We believe the future shouldn't be sterile; it should be wondrous, expressive, and deeply connected to the human spirit.
"The future is not a destination, but a continuous re-imagination. We build not for the world as it is, but for the world as it could be—brighter, stranger, and more beautiful."
A two-year program exploring the integration of mid-century futuristic forms with smart materials, sustainable systems, and augmented living environments.
Doctoral research focused on creating speculative artifacts and interfaces that critique and propose alternative technological futures.
A six-month intensive program for designers and artists to master tools for creating retro-futuristic visual narratives in VR, AR, and holographic media.
Developing adaptive building materials that change their form and function based on time of day and environmental conditions, inspired by 1960s "House of the Future" concepts.
OngoingExploring hybrid interfaces that combine tactile, analog controls (dials, levers) with AI-driven digital outputs to create more intuitive and human-friendly technology.
Phase IIIA digital and physical archive collecting forgotten futuristic concepts from popular culture, patent files, and prototype designs to inform new innovation.
